Brewster Thackeray bought his first Alfa, a 1988 Spider Graduate, in 1996, and joined AROC the next day. After four years editing the Capital Chapter’s Alfantics newsletter and organizing local road tours and events, he was elected to AROC’s national board in 2005. He has served two terms as national president, was on the host committee of the 2010 Convention in Frederick, MD, and is now in his third term as president of the Capital Chapter. Brewster enjoys national conventions, concours judging, and contributing to the Alfa Owner as a writer and editor. A graduate of Hamilton College and American University, Brewster has worked in the nonprofit, government, and automotive sectors. He and his wife Kate have two prodigal Spiders, a 1983 and that 1988 one that started it all, that share their Alexandria, Virginia driveway with a new Giulia TI.
