Michael Bange
Vice President
I joined AROC in 1971 shortly after buying my first Alfa, a 1969 1750 GTV. More Alfas followed – another 1750 GTV, a 1979 Sprint Veloce, a 1983 GTV6, and the pair I currently drive, a 1973 2000 GTV and 1991 164S.
Over the years, I have attended several AROC national conventions, including Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Toronto, two in Maryland, and Rhode Island, and competed in time trials, rallies and/or concours at all. I served on the Convention Planning Committee for ”Alfamiglia Nordest 2015” (co-hosted by NYAROC and the Connecticut chapter), and was a judge at the Concorso d’Eleganza. I’ve also judged Alfa classes at AACA shows and participated in numerous track events at Bridgehampton, Lime Rock, Pocono and Watkins Glen. I was involved in the formation of the Long Island, New York chapter (LIAROC, now NYAROC) in 1984. I was elected the first Treasurer of the new chapter and served two terms.
These are exciting times for our club. With new Alfas being sold here for the first time in twenty years, we have a great opportunity to build our membership and increase participation in national and chapter events. We have a talented and dedicated Board of Directors already in place.
